Resumo

The objective of the research is to evaluate the viability of manufacturing six prototypes of textile structures in a domestic scale using the Additive Manufacturing technology and to compare them in terms of: number of links, speed and time of printing, coverage and consumption of material and weight of digital files. When performing the experimental step of the present research, it was noticed that factors such as print speed, coverage value and digital file size may be design requirements that support the designer in decision making process when choosing the structure that best suits his/her product. It should be noted that none of the structures excel in all parameters; the choice of the ideal textile structure is in charge of the user objective and the functional necessity of the use. However, the field of application of this technology can clearly be seen that could modify the textile and garment production in global terms.
