Resumo
Machining processes aim at changing the dimensions of a part, and they are widely used in the industry. At present, any improvements made to the machine, material, tool or process can lead to a reduction in manufacturing cost. Despite the progress in the development of cutting technology, it is impossible to obtain surfaces with strict accuracy. Therefore, the manufactured parts must have the smallest errors to meet the conditions imposed by the project. This work aims to evaluate the influence that the cutting parameters induce on the circularity of the piece. For the analysis of roundness errors, a TESA MICRO-HITE 3D coordinate measuring machine was used. From the results, a factorial design of type 2³ was carried out with the aid of commercial software. Feed rate, depth of cut and cutting speed are defined as input variables. The results show that the cutting speed and the interaction between the cutting speed and the feed are parameters that significantly influence the predicted values of roundness errors.
